The Andries Steenkamp Benefit Sharing Trust was established to protect and promote the rights and well-being of the San peoples of South Africa. Named after San leader Andries Steenkamp, the Trust manages and distributes benefits arising from the use of San traditional knowledge and resources. It supports heritage preservation, education, cultural revitalisation, and ethical partnerships based on consent and fairness.
